Telephone call with Martin Mortensen
VPCT: "How did you get on at West-Flanders?"
Martin: "It was really cold and I was exhausted after three days. The race was quite difficult due to the wind and I think the fact only eighty riders finished the race says a lot about the conditions."
VPCT: "How is the season going so far?"
Martin: "The Mediterranean race was the coldest I have ever done and I fell ill in the Algarve. I felt much better for the Kuurne though and was really happy when we won. The race at Kuurne was ideal for me because of the cobbles. I finished 11th which got me a lot of attention in Denmark."
VPCT: "What are your plans for the upcoming weeks?"
Martin: "I finished fourth in the Paris-Roubaix under 23's and I really want to compete in this race now I'm a professional. My main aim is to be in an early breakaway and try to stay in front as long as I can. I am due to compete in Wanzele next Wednesday and Nokere a week later.”
